True Change

Verse of the week:

"Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, "The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him."

~ Lamentations 3:22-24








"...Where You are... I want to be. It's your love that has changed me..."

Have you truly been changed? Can you clearly identify what your life before Christ looked like? Perhaps you've never given it much thought.

So pause...

Think for a second about your life. Are you any different than you were 5 years ago? Has Christ transformed your life in noticeable ways?

If not... why?

He surely has the power to change you - his love is transforming. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead was made available to us through what He did on the cross! We don't have any excuse to remain chained in the deadness of our sin, because there is life through Christ.

Just like the verse says, it's because of HIS great love that we are not consumed! Only His righteousness makes us alive. He is faithful when we are not.

So many times I try to "do life" on my own. I just assume that the transforming work of Jesus is something that the disciples experienced, but not something that I can experience for myself on a daily basis. What a lie that Satan loves to tell! The longer he can get you to believe that your life will never change, the longer it will be before anything does change.

Think right now about the things that you've given up hope on in your life:


  • What is that incredible hurt that you believe will never heal?

  • That sin that you just can't seem to overcome?

  • That impossible situation that there seems to be no deliverance from?
By allowing Christ's transforming power into your life - there is healing from hurt, victory over sin, and deliverance out of that impossible situation.

So again I ask... have you truly been changed?
